Dr. Paul Matrullo has excelled in his practice of dentistry for more than 30 years. He opened his practice with the vision of giving his patients the stunning smiles they have always wanted. To this day, Dr. Matrullo continues to provide the highest quality of general dentistry and cosmetic smile reconstruction.
Dr. Matrullo discovered his passion for dentistry in high school when he began to discover his artistic talents and curiosity in medicine. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Providence College where he combined his interests and decided to pursue a career in dentistry. He followed his enthusiasm for the dental arts to New York University where he received his doctorate in dental surgery and later to Harvard University where he received his degree in implantology.
Making the best of his achievements and credentials, Dr. Matrullo finds giving back to the community a rewarding experience. He founded a child identification program in Cranston, RI for which he was awarded a citation from the city of Cranston. He is a former president of the Cranston Dental Society and a former Crusade Chairman of the American Cancer Society. In 1995, he founded the Paul J. Matrullo Scholarship at New York University for dedicated students who would otherwise be unable to afford dental school.
Dr. Matrullo is also an active member of the following organizations: American Dental Association, Rhode Island Dental Association, Cranston Dental Society, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Society of Osseointegration-Diplomate and Fellow, New England Dental Society, New England Implant Study Group, American Academy of Advanced Oral Reconstruction, Sleep Disorder Dental Society, American Academy of the History of Dentistry, and Fellow to the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Affectionately known to his patients as "Dr. Joe," Dr. Joseph Paul Matrullo takes pride in providing his patients with all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry, including fillings, implants, teeth whitening, and all-porcelain restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and veneers. Seeing how a new smile can light up a room is the most rewarding experience of being a dentist for Dr. Matrullo.
Class valedictorian, Dr. Matrullo graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He earned his doctorate in dental medicine from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he was recognized by the International College of Dentists for professionalism and high clinical achievement.
He is a past or present member of the following organizations: American Dental Association, Rhode Island Dental Association, Cranston Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, World Clinical Laser Institute-Associate Fellow, Providence Plantations Study Club, Seattle Study Club, and Tufts University Alumni Association.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Joe enjoys all things outdoors, including gardening, archery, camping, and cycling, with his wife, two daughters, and their dog.
Born and raised in Wichita, KS, Dr. Kylie Zaccari received her undergraduate degree from Wichita State University. She went on to earn her master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Mississippi College before starting Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2018. She recently completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Togus VA Medical Center in Maine. In her free time, she enjoys baking and traveling with her husband.
A graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with a doctorate in dental medicine, Dr. Cusumano grew up in Michigan where she graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience. During her time at Tufts, she served as president of the American Association of Women Dentists and treasurer of the Italian Dental Association. She was the recipient of the Tiberi Family Scholarship, emphasizing her connection to Italian heritage. Dr. Cusumano completed her externship at a health center in Winslow, AZ, treating members of the Navajo community, which showed the positive impact of public health dentistry.
In her personal time, Dr. Cusumano enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Bebrin received his Bachelor of Science and doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Connecticut. He later received orthodontic specialty certificates from the orthodontic departments at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Forsyth Institute. He also has a doctorate in medical science in oral biology from Harvard. Since completing clinical training in 1989, Dr. Bebrin has been active as a researcher, teacher, and area orthodontist in private practice. As a member of the American Orthodontic Association, he attends continuing education courses to stay current with the latest advances in orthodontics that will benefit his patients.
Dr. Bebrin has a love of orthodontics and a compassionate concern for his patients. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time and participating in outside sports and activities with his wife, Dr. Gwen Cugine, and his children, Michelle, Billy, Nikki, and Lauren.
Dr. Paul M. Kaplan, or "Dr. Root" as he is affectionately known in this area, has been practicing as an endodontist (root canal therapy specialist) in Rhode Island and Massachusetts for more than 26 years. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, as well as the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, Dr. Kaplan also received his specialty certificate in endodontics from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, while at the University of Buffalo, he was awarded a Master of Science in oral sciences for pioneering research he completed in the field of digital subtraction radiography.
During his career, Dr. Kaplan has been awarded many honors, including being selected nationally as America's Top Dentist in the field of endodontics for the past 20 consecutive years and honored locally as a Rhode Island and Massachusetts Top Endodontist on multiple occasions.
In addition to treating patients at our dental office, Dr. Kaplan is involved in the academic arena of dentistry. He served as a clinical instructor and professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and Boston University School of Dental Medicine where he taught post-graduate endodontic residents. Additionally, he chaired the endodontic department and taught Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residents at UMass Memorial Hospital.
Away from the office, Dr. Kaplan performs cantorial concerts, teaches tennis, and enjoys quiet time boating and fishing with his family.
I love Dr Matrullo.. I recommend him to everyone. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff is great as well.
Hands down the best practice in RI! These guys are amazing at what they do, and I couldn’t recommend them more. Every experience has been wonderful, and I’ve been going to them for over a decade!
Absolutely the best dentist I've ever been to. They took me on an emergency on a halfday due to weather. I ended up getting a root canal in hopes to save my tooth. I was not a patient there but now I am and will always be. I'm so grateful that I was helped today. The pain I was in was unbearable and they made sure was seen. Can't say enough about this practice but highly recommended.
Dr Matrullo has been my dentist of choice for years. The staff is friendly and professional. Dr Matrullo is a very busy man but when I need help he sees me asap. They are incredibly fast and make sure to match color on any fillings that are visible.
